Focused

Today, I am pretty excited about where I am at with school and in my externship. Things are going right along. The work load for media writing has been moderately busier than most other classes, but I have learned a lot about writing. I am getting better. I am also halfway done with my externship, with 60 hours of 120 already complete.

My resume is put together rather well, and I am actually starting to get some contacts for potential paying positions in the field of radio and video broadcasting. I really want to work at the station I am interning at full time. It is a goal. This is what I want to do. I am trying to see what I may be able to do with these contacts for some side work, and then I'll see what happens.

Despite some outside aggravation, I am trying to stay focused on the goal at hand and keep positive. I have come a long way and have worked really hard to create opportunities. I just want things to work out. I have been building my resume and fine tuning how I present it to employers to give myself the best chance to land a job.

I am at the point where I am really focused on getting a paying position in this field, and I am doing the best I can. This externship has been great, and and I am really excited to see what happens next. I just need to stay calm, stay focused and I need to stay positive. I am so close to where I want to be and have worked hard to do what I can with what I got. Focus is the key to success.

  1. Nick, when you write a blog like this, you can't assume that readers have followed every one of your posts. When you mention your externship in this blog, new readers might have no idea what you're talking about. You must ALWAYS assume that everyone reading this blog entry is reading it for the first time. Keep that in mind as you prepare your future writing assignments.
